Unfortunately the truth is that running can be a risky and debilitating activity due to the impact it has on our bodies. Most of the negative effects of running come from lack of understanding and implementation of smart programming. Running haphazardly is detrimental and can lead to serious long-term injury, so be carful when you start. Running long tracks correctly, can be a great activity and help lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It makes it a agreat fat loss tool, a fun primitive movement and an endorphin creating sport that is easy to do and don't require no special equipment. Keeping the body strong and fit and how you progress it makes it easier to go for the next run. Planning your runs is a very important part, if you want to keep your body safe from injury and functionally sound.
Now we are going to discuss what are some of the important things that you have to pay some attention, if you want to run safely and avoid injuries. Number one rule, now your level. If you are a beginner just accept it and follow some rules, beginners should never increase their mileage from week to week over 10 percent, just don't overdo it. This is a recipe for disaster, overuse injury and chronic pain that can follow you your whole life. Beginners should run the same mileage for two weeks in a row before increasing mileage, they have to get used to their current miles before increasing them. As a begginer, you have to look at running at a more a week by week basis to achieve great results. If you run 50 miles this month, increase the next month by 20 percent and keep doing it. This allows you to follow the weekly 5 percent rule, with some variance. Increasing your program for 5 percent is not too hard, and these will also allow you to have a recovery week mixed into the month as well, which is very important. Your body needs time to regenerate and with this program, it has the time that it needs. Modify the repetitions according to your specific level of experience and follow it. Two athletes might perform 5 x 50 yard sprints, while another three athletes perform eight and the same principle apply to your runs, you just have to find out what works the best for you. And then the follow it each week, the results will be great if you put enough effort into it. The second rule is not to let volume be the sole determinant of your runs. When you start to focus just on "how to increase volume" you let ourselves get carried away. These have some bad side effects, it leads you to just focus on running loads and not so much on running efficiency. Focused running is more important than long useless mileage that can lead to injuries. Depending on your personal goal, you have to decide how much are you willing to dictate yourself to run, then you will know what is the right volume for you. Keep in mind that we are talking about beginners that want to lose weight and not athletes that who want to run at longer endurance events as half marathons and higher, beginners should go to shorter events as 1 mile – 10k. However, these "shorter" events will still require some aerobic foundation to maximize the fitness effects. The secret is to not over train. You have to plan your runs and not allow the overuse to creep up because then you cannot train and improve yourself.
